A growing family is such a miraculous thing. Love stretches and grows. New relationships are suddenly formed (baby sister becomes big sister, big brother now has a little brother). Mom and Dad find that their hands are needed in countless new ways and yet somehow every need is met. We wonder how we’ll do it all and yet somehow God graciously gives parents the ability to be enough for their little ones.
In the past, I dreaded winter photo sessions. I live in a place where we hover around zero degrees (often dipping pretty far below) for several months. Snow can last for 5 months. The daylight is short and the wind can be harsh.
As it’s snowing today in Grand Rapids, I’m finishing up editing this family’s recent session. We’ve had a gloriously warm and beautiful fall and it’s amazing to look at these images and truly believe it was just a short while ago that we could be outdoors and comfortable without winter coats and boots! In the midst of today’s snowstorm, this little girl is sure warming my heart!
After this session, I decided that three months old is my new favorite baby age to photograph. (Of course, the next baby session I do, I’ll have a new age set as my favorite….) The fact is just that this little guy was so pleasant, had such great expressions and chubby cheeks, and his family was so much fun to work with. They obviously love this little guy and each other!
It is wonderful when family can gather together and make time for pictures! It always warms my heart to see multiple generations like this. Grandmas, parents, an uncle, and some kiddos….what a great mix!
I’d like to request more beach days and more photography down by the lake, please! I live in a county that boasts more than 1,000 lakes and I think my photography needs to reflect that! This adorable family sat in the sand and stood in the water for me. I love them for that.
These two little guys just keep getting cuter and cuter and they grow!
If one brother doesn’t want to sit, we just get the other brother to crawl! Ha!
And I love what this image captures…. a little glimpse of life with little ones.
I love that these sisters get pictures with their kids….cousins have such a special bond and it’s such a lovely idea to capture their relationships as they grow.
In the last week, the colors in Grand Rapids have started to peak…between the beautiful colors and the amazing soft sunlight of fall, it has been fun to take outdoor pictures.
I have been photographing this family for awhile and it is so much fun to see their family growing and the kids growing. What sweet little boys!
I’ve enjoyed photographing a few different stages of this family and it was such a thrill to photograph the newest addition! He was such a sweet little sleeper.
Big brother is as handsome as ever and as busy as any two-year-old!
