In the past, I dreaded winter photo sessions. I live in a place where we hover around zero degrees (often dipping pretty far below) for several months. Snow can last for 5 months. The daylight is short and the wind can be harsh.
Winter sessions meant indoor-only sessions for years. Please understand–as a natural light photographer, I LOVE working in an indoor setting where we get amazing daylight pouring through large windows. The thing is, we don’t all have a house that gets sunlight at the right time of day for the best looking room with the biggest windows. Right? Insert photographer anxiety.
Well, credit to Pinterest for inspiring people with cute photos of hats and gently falling snow or all gratefulness to have found clients that like the challenge, but all of a sudden, people aren’t afraid of outdoor Minnesota winter photo shoots! It’s certifiably crazy and I am so happy!
Check out some of the images I’ve been able to take for clients over the last month. You can tell that some days are colder than others and some days we were blessed with that dreamy falling snow, but whatever the weather, I am now thrilled when someone contacts me about a winter session.
Lucky for us, we still have plenty of Minnesota winter left! Schedule a session between now and March 15th, 2017 and get 10% off your session rate! (Be sure to mention Winter Special when you are booking!)
